MEANING OF OPERATING HOURS

Glossary > MEANING OF OPERATING HOURS

In the case of a truck powered by an internal combustion engine, the start of the engine whilst in the case of an electric truck switching it on, generates “On” operating hours (this is what trucks usually display). The “In use” operating hour means time spent with travelling or using hydraulic functions. The “In use with load” operating hour means time spent with moving load. “Idle time” is the difference between the “On” hours and “In use” hours when the truck was not working. An example cycle: switched on for 60 minutes, in use for 40 minutes, in use with load for 15 minutes, idle time 20 minutes. It can be seen that the utilization of trucks can be significantly increased by optimising processes.
