HYDROSTATIC DRIVE

Glossary > HYDROSTATIC DRIVE

The essence of the hydrostatic drive is that the combustion engine drives a hydraulic pump, which delivers oil to the hydraulic motors located at the wheels and these drive the wheels directly. Control is achieved by the quantity and pressure of the delivered oil.

In the case of hydrostatic drive, there are no hydrodynamic torque converters, differentials and half-shafts.
